Zion Sergeants have reached agreement on a new 3-year contract. The City and the Labor Council were able to complete negotiations within a short period of time, with the City putting aside any animosity possibly left over from the Labor Council’s win in the Interest Arbitration of the initial contract. Wage increases for Sergeants will be 11% over the term of the contract. The City agreed to convert the pay scale of the Sergeants to a fixed percentage over top police officer pay. There will be no increase in employee insurance premiums, which remain the same fixed dollar amounts from the previous contracts. The City also agreed to Side Letter on exploration of a Retirement Health Savings Plan.
