Evanston Patrol Officers and The City of Evanston have recently agreed to their first contract under Labor Council representation.  The new contract, which also covers Telecommunicators and Service Desk Officers, has a duration of just less than 2 years due to a fiscal year change.  Wage increases for all employees during the term are 4.25 % fully retroactive to March 2012.  Longevity percentages were increased at all levels.  For the first time, all members will receive a $1000 stipend for having a college degree. Uniform allowance was increased to $1000 for patrol officers and $850 for all other members. The Physical Fitness incentive was increased 100%. Health insurance premiums were converted to percentage amounts at a cost savings to the members. Annual premium increases were capped at 10% for future years. The City also agreed to bargain over work schedule changes.
