24 Hour Critical Incident Hotline: 877-IFOP-911

By Doug Crawford, Field Representative - Friday, October 25, 2013

Macomb Police negotiations began earlier this year with several meetings held, but no settlement.  Negotiations led to mediation with Federal Mediation Commissioner Jerry Meehan lending his expertise to the parties.  However, at ratification the deal was rejected by the Labor Council.  Subsequent meetings led to a tweeking of the deal, after hanging onto previously bargained issues, like the ten hour day  and a liberal comp time bank, it was about gaining new ground.  We did successfully maintain the 10 hour day and the 480 hour comp time bank.  New ground was gained too, with a wage deal worth over 7.25% over three years.  Bargaining team consisited of the Chairman Tom Duval and Team Members Derek Wiley, Lindsay May, Ken Neavear and Todd Tedrow who were assisted in negotiation by Field Representative Doug Crawford.
