The Batavia Sergeants have signed a new contract. Thanks to a lot of hard work and creativity by the Bargaining Team, the Batavia Sergeants reached agreement on a 3 year contract after only a few meetings with the Employer. The Sergeants will see their wages increase by a total of 8.5%, compounded, as well as increases to their Watch Commander Stipend, Roll Call Pay and FTO Pay.  In exchange for giving up a Sergeant Overtime Bank which only benefitted a few sergeants, the Sergeants received a new specialty of Master Sergeant with eligible sergeants receiving $1500.00 annually added to their base pay.  The Sergeants also earned the right to grieve most discipline, and experienced only modest changes to insurance.

Sergeants Shawn Mazza, Ed Perez and Patrick Woerly, with the assistance of the Labor Council General Counsel Tamara Cummings, should be commended for their efforts in reaching a good and fair agreement.
