Labor Council Attorneys and Staff attended the 28th Annual Illinois Public Sector Labor Relations Law Conference at IIT Chicago- Kent Law School on November 30, 2012.

The conference is designed to address some of the most important and current trends facing public sector labor law. The Institute for Law and the Workplace at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law presents this prestigious conference annually and it is attended by attorneys; state and local government and public education officials; administrators and labor relations officers; union officials, business agents and uniserv directors; and arbitrators and mediators.

The conference consisted of concurrent breakout sessions lead by some of the most prominent experts in the labor field.  General Counsel Tamara Cummings, who sits on the Advisory Committee for the conference, spoke regarding recent trends and decisions in Interest Arbitration.  Additionally, Staff Attorney Gary Bailey presented developments in the law on Supervisors.

The conference was extremely informative and enjoyable to those in attendance.  Marty Malin, one of the main organizers of the event, reported the highest attendance level in the history of the conference.
