The Village of Oak Brook had hired a new Village Administrator which proved to be a new challenge for the negotiation process. A unique part of the arbitrator’s award was the granting of an equity adjustment, in addition to a COLA increases. This was granted based on the additional hours these Officers work per year due to the work schedule. The team was also successful in maintaining the current medical coverage and maintaining the employee monthly-co-employee premiums paid for the term of the labor agreement. Management was attempting to move the Officers to one single plan for all village employees with no additional compensation for a lesser plan. I want to thank the negotiation team: Kurt Kaleciak, Luis Perez, Michael Hall, Robert Christopherson and Paul Plinske for there commitment and dedication to the process.
