Illinois FOP Labor Council General Counsel Tamara Cummings was invited to speak during the October 21 College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Seventh Circuit Law Students Program in Chicago.

Cummings and her fellow panelists participated in the session “Pathways to Practice” in a Labor/Employment Law Career. Cummings spoke and answered questions about a career as an in-house labor attorney.

Cummings was invited to speak after she was inducted last year as a fellow into the American Bar Association College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, one of the highest accolades presented by peers in her field.

Before joining the FOP Labor Council, Cummings was in private practice and represented Chicago Police Officers in administrative, criminal and civil matters. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and her Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
