       Welcome to the Labor Council

By Shawn Roselieb, Assistant Executive Director - Thursday, September 1, 2016

    Dear Member,

The Illinois FOP Labor Council is proud to serve as your Union.  As a member of a statewide organization you understand the necessity to communicate with each other so that all involved parties are kept up to speed as to what is going on both within your bargaining unit and around the state.

In order to keep you informed and up to date with the latest happenings, the Illinois FOP Labor Council has taken steps to benefit you, our member.  We have a strong presence on social media, and have created your very own members only webpage on our domain at www.idnrcp.fop.org.  You will soon be receiving an email providing you a specific User Name and Password to access YOUR site. Our goal is to provide a resourceful site that you can access to find out the latest news specific to your membership. You can also “like” our Facebook page and “follow” us on Twitter, and we urge you to do so.

You are represented at the capitol by the lobbyists of the Illinois FOP Labor Council and Illinois FOP State Lodge, and we work to make sure that your best interests are protected.  The Illinois FOP Labor Council works very closely with the Trooper’s Lodge #41 and Chicago Lodge #7, knowing that issues that affect them also affect you.  In working together, the Trooper’s Lodge hosts statewide meetings in each District twice a year.  The Trooper’s Lodge President, Joe Moon, has informed me that he will welcome each of you to these meetings which are usually held in the spring and fall.  You will be invited to attend these District meetings by email.  If you wish to attend as a guest, you will be asked to cover your dinner (usually $15-$20).  The meetings will provide you an opportunity to network with fellow union members, and provide you with important labor information from around the state.

I also urge you to plan to attend our next Annual Meeting in Wheeling on March 23-24, 2017.  You will get an opportunity to meet with the staff of the Illinois FOP Labor Council, and see how the organization is truly run by you, the member.

It is our goal to do all that we can to keep you informed.  If we can assist you in any way, please call us at our Western Springs Office 708 784-1010 or Springfield Office 217 698-9433.  Your assigned attorneys working for you are Bill Jarvis and Roy Carlson.

    Thanks for your service,
    Shawn Roselieb
    Assistant Director
